High Efficiency Aerosol Filtration System (HEAF®)
HEAF systems are traditionally utilized in applications where baghouses will plug up due to the sticky, liquid nature of the particulate and which because of the small size distribution of the particulate, wet scrubbing systems would require excessively high pressure drops to collect it. They are also used to collect particulate matter that cannot be easily removed in from the collection plates in an electrostatic precipitator due to high conductivity or high water content. HEAF units can also collect particulate matter which has an improper resistivity to carry an electrostatic charge. Finally, HEAF units, can also sometimes be used in applications that traditionally utilized fume or vent gas incinerators for reduction of sticky aerosol and VOC laden gas streams.
